The Joy of dies

Christmas is my favorite time of year and all the Christmas dies that are available now help make my season bright.

This card uses a die from CheeryLynn and accents from Stampin' Up! Once I learned to use waxed paper between the die and the paper it made the intricate dies much easier to use and to get all the the design out in one piece.

This card uses a die I purchased from HSN for the Holly Branch and part of a retired Stampin' Up! die from a couple years ago.

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek. Happy crafting!

Christmas Gift Card and Treat Holders

I am enjoying the envelope liner dies that Stampin' Up! offers. I have been searching the web for different ways to use them and came across this option on several blogs. I don't know who posted the idea first so don't know who to give credit to, sorry.

These holders use the medium envelope liner. I use the red sticky tape to seal the edges because it holds so well. These are fun to embellish and a good way to use up "not current" supplies I have on hand.

This little cutie uses the small liner. It is a good size for the small candy canes or the cute little coffee cup gift card that Starbucks is offering this Christmas season.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look. Happy crafting!

I made this card to give to my Mom. I am treating her to a cruise next year and I will use this card to let her know when we will be sailing. I think she will like it and the gift.

I bought this little window die a while back and finally got a chance to use it. This wasn't a fast card to make but I did have a good time doing it.

Just Because

I like the new DSPs in the holiday catalog and decided to use one of them for todays card. I think it works well for all season cards as well as Christmas cards and I will have to stock up on it.
Thanks for stopping by.

Hi

I like this stamp for its size and versatility. I think it works well with the Label Collection die. I used the die to cut the front of the card as well as making the top of the base card. Add a liitle bling and it is all set.

Thankful for You

Today I have another gingham card for you. The center of the yellow bow and the blue disc are  studded with a Candy Dot. These dots are among my favorite things from the 2013-14 catalog because they add that little extra touch. I haven't used them with the brads because there is enough "stickiness" on the back to just place them on the card.

Gingham is so versatile

There is such a freshness to gingham and it blends well with so many other backgrounds.
I had a good time making these cards and will be using the Bow Die from the Holiday catalog on many a project.
Thanks for stopping by.

Cheery card

I'm enjoying some of the new items from the upcoming holiday catalog. The envelope liner and the chevron punch add some nice touches to my creations.
I think it is fun to put a number of items on my workspace and then design a card around what I have chosen. That's what I did for this card and I like the results.
Hope you enjoy.

Time to Celebrate

I continue to enjoy the new In Colors for my card making.

Many of my friends are in Salt Lake City for the 25th Anniversary celebration and Stampin' Up! convention. I know they will all have a wonderful time and bring back lots and lots of ideas to share with those of us who didn't go. Celebrate well!

There's You

Today I have a quick card for you using the Card Base Pop N Cut die for my base card. Have to like those little birds, too.

You Make Me Smile

This is a good all occasion card. I like the sentiment "You Make Me Smile" because I think it can brighten any ones day.

Butterfly Bookmark/Tag

I made this bookmark/tag for a friend who is recovering from knee replacement surgery. She is going to have plenty of time for reading as she heals.

Crisp Cantaloupe abounds

I am finding that Crisp Cantaloupe ink is very versatile. It blends so well with many of the existing SU! colors and has become one of my go to colors. I would be happy if SU! added this one to their regular line in the future.

I'm back

I was going to post all my cards on Pinterest until I noticed people were still stopping by this site, so I am going to resume posting here as well as Pinterest.

Here are a few of my latest creations. Thanks for looking.

Bling and new clay

This card just evolved. I wanted to use the coral stamp from By the Tide as a background. I decided some hand dyed chrystals would be nice on the coral and then kept adding them to the card on the side strip.
I really like the new clay. The flower for this card was sponged with Crisp Cantaloupe and then it just had to have some bling too.

My M&T for stamp club

Each month I get together with a group of demo's for a stamp club. We started to get together before we were all demos and have continued for several years now. Half of us make projects and half of us bring food.
This month it is my turn to bring one of the projects and I decided to give everyone a choice between two similar designs. Hope everyone enjoys.

Friday Creations

I enjoy this transition season of SU! because I take the opportunity to look at what I have left over from the past year and how I can blend it with the pre order items I have received.
These two cards are examples of those mergers. Strawberry Slush card stock is going to be a go to color for me this year and it blends well with items from the Spring mini. (I think am going to save this card for my Mom,)

This card was made with pieces from a card club card that I didn't finish at the event. I redesigned the card a bit and used the new Cantaloupe card stock as my background.

Old and New continued

SU! is introducing a new neutral color - Smokey Slate.
I am not a big fan of white and vanilla base cards, it's just my personal thing, but I do like a soft background and this color does the trick.
I used it for this first card and one of the things I like about it is that it highlights the bit of slate in the dsp's I used for accents. I also used the new clay with a non SU! mold for the center of the design and sponged Coastal Cabana over it after it dried.

I am sorry the Feeling Sentimental stamp set was only available for SAB. It is one of my favorites and I will continue to use it because I like how flexible it is for creating masculine and feminine cards.
It sounds like I am in a bit of a "current only" rebellion, but I am enjoying myself.

Pistachio Pudding and Strawberry Slush

This color combo is so fresh and on trend right now, and I just like how it looks. We have had sunshine in the Northwest the past few days, so I was inspired to make a card that fit the weather. This is the outcome of that effort.

Although the bottle caps haven't been carried forward I stocked up on them and plan to keep using them because they are fun and add a nice touch to cards. So you will see them from time to time as the months go by.

I used a stamp from Mosaic Madness on the ribbon with Strawberry Slush and just a garnish of Crisp Cantaloupe with the You Make Me Smile from the A Round Array stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by.

In Colors

I am going to enjoy the new In Colors for months to come. They remind me of the house colors in the Caribbean and that brings a smile to my face.
These cards are a combination of something old, something new, and something not SU!
Hope they bring smiles to your face, too.

K is for Kindness

I made this card using the sketch at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. I like the soft pastels that are in this season and wanted to use them for this card. They remind me of nice Spring days.

Playing with retired SU paper

I have been playing with One Stroke painting and stamping for a bit now. I decided to use paper colors that SU! retired  a couple years ago because I didn't want to "waste" current paper if the projects didn't turn out like I expected.

People who know about all my paper stash are ROTFLOL right now. Actually, I was digging through my office and came upon the retired paper plus I was to lazy to go out to my craft room/trailer to get something current.

Here are the results. The first one uses a background die cut and the second one is hand painted and embellished with a stamp greeting. Enjoy.
