Valentine, Anniversary,Birthday ....take your pick

This is the Make & Take I made for our last demo meeting. I intentionally didn't put a sentiment on it so it could be used for different occasions. The paper is More Amore dsp from the Spring catalog and yes, I did cut out all those hearts for the 16 people at the meeting. I think it was worth it in the end. I also cut flowers from the Flower Trim to put in the center of the hexagon on the heart.

I am enjoying the new Spring catalog and all the possibilities it offers.

BEST OF 25 YEARS STAMPS

As part of SU!'s 25-year anniversary celebration, they're bringing back some of our favorite stamp images from the last quarter century and combining them into 12 sets, which will release-one set per month-during 2013. Even better, along with some great classic images, each "Best of" set will also include a never-before-seen image!

Some things to know:
  • All Best of stamp sets will include 3-5 images, including a never-before seen image, and will be priced at $14.95.
  • While SU! is releasing just one Best of stamp set per month (with a new theme each month), all of the Best of sets will be available until March 31, 2014.
  • All Best of stamp sets are available in Clear-Mount only.
While SU! is releasing just one Best of stamp set per month, all of the Best of sets will be available until March 31, 2014.
As a special incentive to collect the Best of stamps, starting in February SU! is including a collector's card and 25-year proof of purchase sticker with every Best of set. Collect six stickers, and send it in to redeem a FREE set of your choice valued up to $14.95! Free sets must be redeemed no later than April 30, 2014.

The first set is Best of Birthdays (132929) :

Feeling Sentimentally Good

This was a fun project to work on and I have a few tips to pass on to you.

I used Feel Goods stamp set (129684)  and Canvas Creations (129375) from the Spring catalog and Feeling Sentimental (129630) from SAB.

I used an oval framelit to cut out the ferris wheel and the sentiment. When doing this I tend to use a post-it note to hold the paper or canvas and the framelit in place for cutting. Works like a charm. What I learned the hard way is that you need to heat set the ink on the Canvas Creations before you do anything else, especially if you are using the new ink pads. I didn't and the ink came off on the post-it note and then transferred to the next image I cut. Also, when I heat set on the canvas the ink faded just a bit. Last tip, I secured the canvas to the card with a bit of the red sticky tape. Overall, I like the canvas creations material and the texture it adds to a project. I will continue to use it.

Thanks for stopping by.
